Region 6 Industrial Action

This week saw more action in region 6 with no uniforms and wearing union clothes kicking off indefinitely- people were looking good in their bright red RTBU shirts! RTBU members also stopped using their phones outside of work and deleting the Blink app. You can read the bulletin to region 6 members here.

The company has tried to make a grab for 10% of worker wage for the uniform ban. Clearly, they haven’t learnt from getting the 31% cash grab from workers knocked down to 1.5%, so we’ve lodged that natter in the Fair Work Commission this afternoon. It won’t be fixed instantly but like the 31% which took time, it will be heard by the Commission fairly fast.

Notification was also given today for another 24-hour stoppage next Thursday. To make it up to commuters we’ll be giving notice on Monday to commence fare free services ongoing from Christmas Eve-day (Friday 24 December).

The company will take 1.5% for days where we do not operate Opal machines so it’s a small price to pay for a massive publicity and the pressure that TfNSW will be putting on the company.
