What’s Barry been up to?
Since taking office in March 2011, Barry O’Farrell and his Government have made a number of cuts to funding, jobs, workers’ rights and services.
Unions NSW has put together an overview of what the workers of NSW have endured thus far.
We’ve seen these cuts affect transport workers across the network, Transit Officers have been scrapped and bus drivers have been threatened with privatisation. Most recently we have seen a further 690 job cuts at RailCorp.
But this government must remember that together we are a strong force and will not continue to take these attacks. Our union has a proud history of meeting the challenges of hostile employers and governments.
It’s important that we are ready to act when we need to and support our fellow transport workers. If you haven’t already, make sure your details are up to date with the union and keep in contact with your delegate if you have any concerns about something going on in your workplace.
