Timetable in turmoil: union demands more buses
Bus drivers have called for an urgent change to the Metro 41 timetable, claiming the current timetable was unworkable and resulted in consistently late services.
The M41, which connects Macquarie Park, North Ryde, Ryde, Burwood, Campsie, Bexley North and Hurstville, is an important link to Concord Hospital and Macquarie University.
The NSW Rail, Tram and Bus Union’s bus and tram division president Gary Way said the State Transit Authority (STA) had continued to refuse to address the timetable issues.
He said STA had avoided putting on more buses and drivers, which meant up to 60% of services were late each day.
“People are missing appointments or university classes,” Mr Way said.
STA was approached for comment but had not responded as the Courier approached deadline.
