Region 6 EA Update

Jul 15, 2022Uncategorized

Last Thursday we met with TSA to go over the shift modelling and work towards a clearer picture of how things need to look as we focus on creating a single roster with the same penalties and shift timings. For more details on the what the modelling is, read here.

Alongside this, a key issue that has arisen is the payrise owed to the #900 drivers, which the company has failed to pass on despite being given money by the government for this purpose. Instead it has become a bargaining chip – held to ransom in an attempt to sway negotiations. This is exactly what they tried to do with our payrise, but that was a court ordered increase so we could go to the court to get them to pay. This money is what TfNSW passes on to the company to fund worker pay increases, so court is not going to help.

The company has done this before, sitting on the pay rise for Region 3 employees for over 2 years.

The TWU has demanded that TSA rightfully pass on the payrise and we absolutely back them up on this. Further action is on the table if this issue is not remedied.
