In another show of solidarity for the Division, on Tuesday, Divisional President Daniel Jaggers, Bruce Eddy, Frank Farkas and other RTBU officials spoke at Randwick City Council in support of a resolution to Keep Our Buses Public. The resolution passed by a vast majority, despite some interesting discussion. A shout and thanks to Alexandra Luxford who wrote and forwarded the motion and also pledged to Keep Our Buses Public with a resolution we’ve designed specifically for councils.

On Tuesday night Divisional President Daniel Jaggers, Bruce Eddy, Frank Farkas and other RTBU officials spoke at Randwick City council in support of a resolution to Keep Our Buses Public. The resolution passed by a vast majority, despite some interesting discussion.

A shout out and thanks to Alexandra Luxford who wrote and forwarded the motion and also pledged to Keep Our Buses Public with a resolution we’ve designed specifically for councils.

The council resolved that we would write to Transport Minister Andrew Constance and seek a guarantee that as a result of any privatisation of State Transit Authority that:

  • on time running will remain at or better than the current claimed rate of 95 per cent.
  • there will be no reduction in the number or movement of bus stops;
  • the 302, 314, 317, 373, 376, 377, 393, 394, 395, 397, 399, L94, M10, M50, 891, 893 not be cancelled as proposed in the Transport for NSW draft South East Sydney Integrated Service Plan.
  • Any proposal to change routes, frequencies, or bus stop locations in the future will be subject to thorough community notification and consultation.
