NSW teachers reach new pay deal
After tough negotiations NSW teachers have voted overwhelmingly in favour of a new agreement which will deliver, amongst other things, the maximum annual increases allowable under state law – 2.27%, 2.0% and 2.15% – for the next three years.
These increases would go up to 2.5% per annum if the NSW Government fails in its attempts to avoid paying the employer’s contribution to the increased superannuation guarantee levy. After the agreement passed the union has registered it’s disgust at the 2.5% salary cap imposed by the O’Farrell Government.
