Newcastle debate in Parliament, tomorrow. Join us

May 16, 2018News

On Thursday, State Parliament will be debating the disastrous new Newcastle bus timetable, again.

All bus drivers and supporters are invited to join us at NSW Parliament at 4pm on Thursday 17 May to hear first-hand what privatisation has done to Newcastle’s bus system.

A petition opposing the timetable changes implemented by the Keolis Downer gathered enough signatures to trigger not one, but two debates in State Parliament. The first debate highlighted the myriad of problems privatisation has caused in Newcastle. Thursday’s debate will highlight even more.

Join us at 4pm Thursday 17 May. Meet outside the main entrance of NSW Parliament, Macquarie St, Sydney.

Newcastle is the perfect example of why privatisation doesn’t work, yet our Transport Minister is continuing to push his privatisation agenda in other areas of the state, like Sydney’s inner-west.

Join us at Parliament on Thursday to hear first hand why we need to continue to fight privatisation of our bus services in other areas of the state. If you have any questions, please contact the RTBU Tram and Bus Division office on (02) 9319 7277.

Hope to see you there.
