More of George Street to close as light rail construction expands

Light rail construction will start on George Street between Hunter and King Streets from 10pm on Friday 1 July 2016.

Some traffic changes will be in place during this work:

• George Street will be close to general traffic between Hunter and King Streets. A single southbound lane will be open to local traffic, construction and emergency vehicles only.
• There will be no left turn from Hunter Street into George Street.
• George Street will now be closed to general traffic between Hunter Street and Park Street.
• A single northbound-only land will remain on George Street, between Grosvenor and Alfred Streets, and between Margaret and Bridge Streets.
