International Day of Mourning
Transport workers have marked an International Day of Mourning to remember workers whose lives have been lost as a result of workplace incidents or disease.
The International Day of Mourning is recognised worldwide as a time to remember and recognise the need for a culture of safety in our workplaces.
With a number of rail workers tragically losing their lives on the job over the years, it was a particularly poignant day for those in the rail industry.
Workers held services on services on Sunday at Sydney’s Darling Harbour and at Ourimbah on the Central Coast.
