Bus privatisation: Parliament debate
Yesterday, NSW Parliament debated the Government’s plans to privatise our buses.
The debate was triggered by the more than 22,000 petition signatures you and your fellow members helped to collect.
While what we heard from the Government Ministers in the debate was predictable (awkward attempts to defend the undefendable), it was an important moment in the campaign and an opportunity for supportive MPs to talk about how crucial it is that we protect our buses from privatisation.
A special thanks to those of you who came along to the debate and helped pack out the public gallery. It was quite clear that the enormous presence made the MPs feel the heat.
