Bus drivers show support for NSW cops

Bus drivers showed solidarity with NSW cops this week by participating in a huge rally outside Parliament House to protest against cuts to Police Death and Disability protections.

The cuts to the Death and Disability scheme will have a significant impact on the way police go about their business.  Without an adequate financial safety net to protect their families, they will be less confident in tackling dangerous and violent situations.

It was a sea of blue in Macquarie Street, as 5,000 police officers vented their fury at Premier Barry O’Farrell and Police Minister Michael Gallacher.

The MC at the rally, Police Association Vice President Pat Gooley, singled out the RTBU Bus & Tram division for a special mention, and thanking the division for its support.
