Burwood obstacles finally removed

Drivers have long been swerving around, and knocking off mirrors on, the monster trees along Burwood routes.

After a decade of petitioning from the union, finally the council has agreed to remove the dangerous trees. Two outside the Burwood Station at Hungry Jacks have been removed, the tree from outside the old post office on the 400 route is going soon and the tree outside Westfield will be removed before Christmas.

Fence panels which were placed right on the edge of the gutter at bus stops on Burwood Road preventing passengers getting on and off safely have also been removed.

A victory all round for commonsense!
