KDH fails to commit that it will not degrade our conditions – VOTE NO
The ballot for the proposed KDH Enterprise Agreement is due to open on Monday, and members deserve to know exactly what is going on.
All week, members have told us the same thing – the backpay proposal dropped at the last minute is nothing more than a cynical manoeuvre designed to pressure and coerce you into a yes vote. It is part of the money KDH received from the Government (only half of it!), and it is being waved around as bait, not respect. Workers know the difference.
This offer does nothing to fix some of the issues you have repeatedly said matter most.
It does not guarantee secure shift lengths.
It does not guarantee crib breaks stay in the depot.
It does not guarantee that your income will not be quietly cut through a roster review once the vote is over.
These are basic protections, and KDH has refused to give clear answers on any of them.
You are being asked to vote on a proposed agreement without the very clarifications or certainty you have requested. The company’s silence indicates that they probably have every intention to do the above things and make our working lives just that much harder.
We have today written again to the CEO demanding immediate answers. Copies of the two letters are attached below so you can see exactly what has been put to them.
You deserve honesty, certainty, and respect, not last minute tactics designed to take advantage of workers in desperate need of a pay rise right before Christmas.
Stay solid. Look after each other. And remember, your power is in your vote and your unity.
