KDH refuses First Aid Kits for your workplace
KDH has flat out refused to put First Aid Kits on buses — your workplace, let alone provide training. Apparently while every workplace in Australia has one, buses shouldn’t.
Nothing for you. Nothing for the travelling public. This is a disgrace.
KDH are unwilling to agree to the most basic of clauses because they want to screw you for the next 4 years and claw back the wage offer. They want to roster you 10-hour straight shifts, cribbed at the side of the road and more.
That’s the reality KDH is trying to get you to choose.
Trying to buy you off with a substandard deal.
Today, KDH told us they want to rush their pitiful offer to a vote. They think dangling backpay will make you accept less than you deserve and you will settle for an inferior deal before Christmas.
This fight is about more than wages — it’s about safety, respect, fair wages, it is about securing conditions to protect you through any contract changes and preserving overtime.
We’ve been patient. We’ve taken action designed to pressure KDH, not the community.
But if KDH won’t agree to basic safety protections and reasonable pay and conditions, we have no choice but to escalate to stoppages.
If that happens, the blame lies with them.
A First Aid Kit isn’t radical — it’s the bare minimum.
A meal in a depot is not revolutionary, it’s what drivers need.
Reasonable pay and conditions isn’t unreasonable – it is what you deserve.
And if KDH won’t step up, we will.
Stay fired up. Stay united. Safety comes first.
Don’t forget, tomorrow’s action, don’t leave the yard without a full tank. Ask for a new one if it isn’t full!
