New action starting Monday at KDH

Nov 22, 2025

The following action will commence at 4am on Monday, 24 November and run for 24hrs:

“A change to the way work is performed by employees not operating a service if the previous service finishes 6 or more minutes late”

How the action will work:

  • If you arrive at the terminus and the service is 6 or more minutes late, you should contact the radio room/control and inform them that you are more than 6 minutes late and due to PROTECTED INDUSTRIAL ACTION you will not be operating the next service.
  • Our understanding is they should ‘special’ you to your next terminus to commence the next service on your journal.

We do ask members to be vigilant when it comes School Specials/Runs. Please ensure that these services operate and any delay or cancellation of these services are reported ASAP as per normal practice.

GeoTag swingers will continue, as well as the uniform ban – and don’t forget to wear your berets loud and proud.

Members are reminded that – as with all industrial action we have taken – our action is protected and KDH should not withhold pay from you, including late running payments. Please ensure you document any attempt by KDH to withhold pay and forward it to your local delegate or to our office. The RTBU takes wage theft extremely seriously.

As members should be aware by now, KDH are in a rush to put an Enterprise Agreement to a vote after sitting on their hands for months and months actively obstructing the bargaining process. The company paid little or no attention to the needs of employees and are now attempting to hood wink you into thinking they’re putting forward a good offer simply by giving you the money you are owed under their contract with the Government.

Next week’s actions on the calendar of chaos may change given KDH move to put their substandard agreement to a vote, so stay tuned for further information. It is of vital importance that we ensure as many members as possible VOTE NO to ensure your many months of hard work gives you the enterprise agreement you deserve – not some dodgy, botched agreement that only serves to line the pockets of a multi-national company and foreign government.

Keep an eye out for more information on why this agreement is NOT worth voting for.
